BMI is a measure of body fatness.

Note:
  • BMIs between 19.0 and 24.9 are considered normal.

  • BMIs above 24.9 usually indicate overweight status. There are a few exceptions.

  • If in doubt about what you body weight should be, see a dietitian or physician.

 

  • It will help to have a calculator to determine BMI.

  • Take you height in inches and divide it by this number: 39.37.

  • Take the number you got when you divided by 39.37 and square it.
    This converts inches to meters²

  • Take you weight in pounds and divide by 2.2.
    This converts weight to kilograms.

  • Then divide your weight in kilograms(kg) by your height in meters² to determine BMI.
