Using grant funds provided by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, WVATS recently launched the Adventure is for Everyone project which allows free rental of adaptive mountain bikes at various locations throughout West Virginia.

The goal of the project is to help increase opportunities and lower barriers to outdoor recreation for people with disabilities or mobility impairments. Through this program, adaptive mountain bikes are available to borrow free of charge at Wamsley Cycles in Morgantown and at the Challenged Athletes of West Virginia located at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Starting the Adventure is for Everyone project was the WVATS submission for this year's One Big Thing series featured at the Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP) Leadership Symposium. Check out the video to learn more.
