Keep an eye out for renewal letters in the mail to ensure you keep your benefits
Friday, August 4, 2023

Over the next 12 months, everyone receiving Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) benefits will need to renew their coverage. Renewal letters will be going out through the mail, so it is important to make sure everyone's contact info is up to date with the state in order to not miss out on benefits. Here is a list of resources that can help people with disabilities navigate the renewal process:
- Info for WV Medicaid, CHIP and more, including a list of local county offices and program applications.
- People with disabilities of all ages can use the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL) for assistance. This includes options for American Sign Language (ASL). Reach DIAL by phone: 888-677-1199.
- Older adults and people with disabilities who are eligible for Medicare can also find assistance through their State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
- Learn more about renewing your Medicaid or CHIP coverage.
- Disability Rights of West Virginia can help with advocacy and rights protection.
- A free webinar series will be available to provide partners with strategies to educate and reach diverse communities and audiences to share info about these renewals. An upcoming webinar is focused on reaching both aging and disability populations. It takes place on Thursday, August 17 from 3-4 p.m.
