The WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities recently partnered with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) to host a presentation all about aging and vision loss at the WVU School of Medicine Charleston Campus. The presentation was recorded so it can be viewed at anytime.

Learning objectives:

  1. Describe common causes of age-related vision loss and their impact on daily activities.
  2. Describe assistive technologies and simple interventions for older adults with vision loss.
  3. Discuss how to interact respectfully with someone who is blind or has vision loss.
  4. Identify how to locate and utilize vision rehabilitation services and other useful resources.
  5. Describe both psychological and systemic barriers that limit engagement in vision rehabilitation services for older adults.
